Prior to his current role, Tom was Vice President – AT&T Corporate Strategy, and was responsible for driving strategic initiatives including advertising, spectrum, and content strategies. Tom’s team led initiates to evaluate content company acquisitions, OTT video expansion, and broadening AT&T’s advertising strategy across local search, TV, broadband and mobile. In addition, Tom developed the initial wireless spectrum strategy framework. Tom was appointed to this position in January 2008.  Tom started at AT&T in January 2006 in the U-verse group driving a number of new strategic and partner initiatives including audience measurement, personalization, and launched the first OTT video portal. Before joining AT&T, Tom was the Head of Business Development for Thomson/Technicolor Electronic Distribution Service’s business unit leading efforts to transition the company’s services to electronic content delivery. He also held positions at SkyStream Networks as Director of Business Development, and at RealNetworks. At SkyStream he drove and oversaw efforts in the area of strategic partnerships and new market development for IPTV video headend systems and a satellite push-based content delivery platform. At RealNetworks, he led market development activities in a group chartered by the CEO to define the transformation of RealNetworks’ narrowband audio business into a leading broadband streaming media delivery company. Tom gained his business and operational expertise by co-founding and running a high-tech company, Khoral Research Inc., specializing in scientific imaging software and consulting services to government agencies and Fortune 500 companies. Tom has a BS in Computer Engineering ('89), and an MS in Electrical Engineering ('90) with an emphasis on advanced networks, image and video processing from The University of New Mexico.


Jennifer McDonnell, VP, Partnerships, Kin Community; As Vice President of Partnerships at Kin Community, Jennifer McDonnell oversees audience growth and retention of Kin Community by working directly with Kin's portfolio of women's lifestyle creators and brands. Prior to joining Kin Community in 2008, Jennifer served as a Product Manager at Yahoo, managing development and operations in the Entertainment and Education categories. Jennifer was part of the team that developed Yahoo! Entertainment’s Brand Universe initiative, which successfully launched the World of Star Wars community fansite in partnership with LucasFilm. Jennifer has also worked on media-based health education projects for the UCLA Health & Media Research Group and the Starlight/Starbright Foundation, and as Senior Instructional Designer for Quisic, developing online education and E-learning courseware for MBA programs at Dartmouth and Oxford. Jennifer received her Master of Science in Educational Technology from the University of Southern California and Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of California at Santa Barbara.


JC Cangilla, SVP Business Development, New Form Digital: JC Cangilla runs all business development and operations for emerging studio New Form Digital. Cangilla oversees all distribution deals, partnership development and licensing deals for the studio. Leveraging New Form’s high-profile production partners and talent, Cangilla develops customized opportunities across multiple platforms that are defining the new business model for digital video success.  Prior to New Form, Cangilla ran the video licensing business for Yahoo, securing content deals with more than 75+ partners, including Saturday Night Live, Comedy Central, CBS, Discovery Networks. His experience in the digital video space has been squarely focused on business development and redefining the way deals are done. Since his dive into the digital pool with SpotRunner in 2005, Cangilla has established himself as one of the leading dealmakers in digital video. Cangilla is a graduate of Kenyon College and is based in Los Angeles, CA.


Alec Shankman started his career in Hollywood in 2003 upon joining the West coast office of Abrams Artists Agency where he launched the agency’s renowned Alternative Programming & Digital Media Department. He ran the successful division for 6 years, representing the stars of many popular TV shows such as SyFy's Ghost Hunters, Discovery's Deadliest Catch, VH1's The Pick Up Artist and ABC's Dancing With The Stars. Alec also represented TV producers & packaged a variety of TV shows & web series.  In 2009 Alec became the CEO of, which was the Internet’s premier interactive casting site & social network for talent. Under his supervision, GotCast innovated the talent sourcing business, casting over 750,000 entertainment projects.  He also launched MediaBlastr, GotCast's popular social media-based contest platform. MediaBlastr powered hugely successful campaigns sponsored by top brands like Mercedes-Benz, Sony Playstation, L'Oreal, Dove, Charles Schwab, & Garnier Fructis. In 2010, GotCast was honored by the Los Angeles Business Journal for Innovation & Vision.  In 2012, Alec accepted the position of Co-Head of Alternative Programming & Digital Media for The Kaplan Stahler Agency in Beverly Hills where he represented TV personalities from top shows like A&E's Duck Dynasty, Discovery's Gold Rush, Lifetime's Dance Moms, Bravo's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Spike TV's Tattoo Nightmares, Nat Geo's Wicked Tuna, History Channel's Swamp People, EXTRA, etc. Alec also reps digital companies like &  In 2014 Alec and his clients moved back to AAA where he reclaimed his role as Head of Alternative Programming & Digital Media & his business continues to quickly grow & expand representing producers, production companies and talent.  Alec's 1st book, ‘Moving to Los Angeles: The ABC’s of Making Your Hollywood Dreams Come True,’ was published in 2010. His 2nd book 'Moving to Los Angeles: The ABC's of Getting an Agent,' was published in 2012.


Kris Nagel, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Field Operations of Vindicia: Kris has 20 years of sales, sales management and executive experience, providing organizational leadership in the enterprise software and telecommunications industries. He has extensive experience in the billing and customer care market including senior management positions with Portal Software and CSG Systems.  Prior to joining Vindicia, Kris was vice president of sales at Mu Security and SS8 Networks where his responsibilities included overall management of the global sales force and channel partners for each company. Previously he had held positions of increasing importance in sales management, culminating in his appointment as vice president and general manager of the Americas for Portal Software. Kris began his career at Apple Computer and has also held sales and sales management positions at Traverse Networks and CSG Systems.


Adam Goldstein is VP, Business Development, ZEFR, the leading technology partner to major media companies and brands on YouTube, where he focuses on partnering with film studios, music labels, TV networks, sports leagues, and other rights holders in both the US and Latin America. Recent partners include Paramount Pictures, Hasbro Studios, and Nintendo. Adam previously led entertainment business development and partnerships for Ustream, the leading live video platform, and was instrumental in growing Ustream's presence in Hollywood. He started his career in management consulting, working with Fortune 100 companies on international growth and innovation. A graduate of Haverford College and born and bred on the east coast, he's now proud to call Santa Monica home.


Sun Jen Yung, Managing Director, Headwaters MB: Sun Jen Yung, Managing Director, joined Headwaters from Nightwood Capital LLC, a middle-market boutique advisory firm that she founded in 2009. Sun focuses on Digital Media & Internet and Media Growth companies. Her experience of 20 years in investment banking includes corporate finance coverage of Media (cable and entertainment), Digital Media, Internet and Software companies at Oppenheimer, Deutsche Bank , Lehman Brothers and J.P. Morgan. Sun also has experience in Equity Research at Lehman Brothers. She has completed over $38 billion in public (IPOs and follow-ons) and private equity, equity-linked and debt financings and M&A transactions. Sun serves on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Greenwich (CT). She received B.A. degrees in Economics and International Studies at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN and an M.B.A. of Finance from Columbia Business School in New York.


Tom Sauer, Vice President - Video and Original Content Development, Corporate Strategy and Development, AT&T Services, Inc.:  Tom Sauer, Vice President, Video Business and Original Content Development is responsible for working across all business units to advance AT&T’s media and entertainment initiatives. Additional responsibilities include key entertainment alliances oversight, original content development and AdWorks Business development. He was appointed to this position in April 2011.  Tom has strategic market development expertise in consumer-based video service delivery, content development, sell-side advertising, and IP networks. His strong technical background matched with
